1. Business Development Manager

"BDC Manager" A BDC Manager is a position that has been added over the last several years. Some dealerships were using a Business Development Center as long as ten years ago, however the practice has become more wide spread in the last two or three years. A Business Development Center Manager can earn from $4,000 to $10,000 per month, their pay plan is based on the amount of business they do. Depending on who you ask, the qualifications for a BDC Manager will vary. It is my opinion that they should have management experience and should have worked as a Business Manager for at least a year.

2. Business Manager

(F&I Manager) These folks are responsible for the paperwork. This job carries - which is much better for the customer and the dealership. The development of the business office is one of the best examples of win/win in business today. Business managers can make $10,000 to $20,000 per month, their pay plan is based on the amount of business they do and the profit derived from that business.

3. Sales Managers

(Team Leader) Dealerships break their salesmen up into "Teams pay plan is based on the amount of business they do and the profit derived from that business. Sales Manager is one of many opportunities that can be offered to a salesperson who does a good job and is ready for a promotion.

4. General Sales Manager

"Desk Manager" Contrary to popular belief, they do NOT walk up there and shoot the breeze pretending to discuss your deal. General Sales Managers can earn from $10,000 to $20,000 per month, their pay plan is typically based on how many cars the dealership sells and profit derived from those sales.

5. General Manager

In charge of everything, however, in many cases you may see the General Manager focusing primarily on sales efforts. Also note that the general manager is in charge of the dealership operations. This is usually an owner above the General Sales Manager. General managers can make from $15,000 to $50,000 per month, and their pay plan is usually based on the dealerships performance.
